The closest I can liken Lauren to, and she may shoot me for saying this, is Joss Stone. She has a soulful, and not traditionally feminine voice. Lauren very much sounds beyond her years and my guess is her appeal would reach across age, sex and cultural divisions.

Lauren moved to Los Angeles at 16, where she lived with Lisa-Marie Presley and tried to make it as a singer in a reggae band. She eventually succeeded as a musical actress, playing the 15-year-old runaway “Ilse” on the off-Broadway show Spring Awakening for two years. Lauren’s new single “Not The Drinking” was released on October 25th through Spilt Milk/ Island Records which have produced other bands such as Sugababes, Amy Winehouse and Annie Lennox.
