How To Impress Your Guy

Whether you’ve known each other two years or two months, impressing a guy can be a bit of a mine field. I’ve come up with a few ways that are bound to make you flavour of the month and get you some brownie points from your guy…

Hang With The Guys

This is a bit of an art form and takes some practise. You can’t be so comfortable around his friends that you begin to participate in un-lady-like activities such as shouting or passing wind, nor can you seem like you’re bored or grossed out by their behaviour – it’s all about balance. Get involved, be engaged but remember…you’re there to impress and be shown off. Keep the drinks and snacks flowing, don’t ask questions and you can’t really go far wrong – oh and make sure you’re invited!

Buy Him Something Thoughtful

Guys love gifts as much a girls do…but the right ones. Women have the classic gifts – perfume, chocolates and flowers that are quite standard – but what do guys have? Try and find out if any of his favourite bands are playing in the near future and buy him tickets to the event. Invite him round for a cosy night in and spring the surprise on him – he’ll be dead impressed you did your research!

Short Communication

Guys hate lengthy distance communication. This includes long text messages, e-mails, phone calls – whatever. In order to impress your guy keep you blabbering for your girlfriends. A rule of thumb is always be the one to try and end communication first, that way you won’t be disappointed when he hints that he’s busy and you’ll seem as though you’re in high demand.

PDA

Most guys hate PDA’s (Public Displays of Affection). As with the point above, keep PDA’s brief. Give him a quick peck on the cheek, a loving smile or squeeze of the hand. This will allow him to keep his masculine dignity whilst reminding him that he’s one of the luckiest guys alive. If you can squeeze a quick PDA in front of his mate…he’ll probably love you even more.

Wear Sexy Underwear

Find out what kind of underwear he likes to see women in and be sure to buy some. Keep it for special occasions and now and again send him a quick message telling him “I’m wearing that underwear again”. This has best results when he’s at work or some other activity where he can’t be with you or alone. He’ll be thinking about you all day and when he finally sees you in it…I’m sure you’ll benefit too!

Visit His Parents

Lastly, the one we all dread…visiting the in-laws. If you really want to impress your guy, suggesting a visit to the in-laws will not only score you points with him, but it’s a perfect opportunity to show his parents how good you really are. Chances are if his parents approve of you, you’re a keeper. Try baking some cookies or some other home-made treats to take with you, it’ll say more than swinging by the supermarket on the way there. Remember though, trying too hard will have the opposite effect so ensure your ideas are thoughtful, inexpensive and effortless.
