How To Deal With Jealousy
Don’t you just hate jealousy? I mean, we all know when we’re being jealous, but no matter how hard we try to conceal it…we just become worse and worse. Whether it’s a flirtatious boyfriend, a gorgeous girlfriend or that person whose simply got it all – we all go through it and rest assured, you’re not alone. Now read and take note of my best ways of dealing with jealousy so you never have to face to green-eyed monster again…
1. Put Things Into Perspective
Is what you’re jealous of really worth being jealous of? Honestly? Sometimes we get jealous about issues that are so insignificant in the grand scheme of things that we really need to take a reality check. Perhaps run your ‘green’ issues past one of your girlfriends to get a second opinion – it’ll help you, trust me. If your jealousy is validated by a girlfriend then take a look at the other steps and deal with it.
2. Use It To Better Yourself
I find that being jealous always gives me a little nudge to better myself. Whether it’s making myself look hotter, smarter or anything else for that matter – I use jealousy as a positive. If you’re jealous of someone or something, aspire to acquire girls and whatever they have that you don’t – go get!
3. Think About Those Worse Off Than You
This one sounds pretty mean but it totally works a treat! Whenever you feel a spell of jealousy coming on, think long and hard about people you’d hate to be, how fabulous you are and what you have that nobody else does. Rather than focusing your energy on being jealous of someone, think about how lucky you are and why people should be jealous of you. Not only will this take your mind off your jealousy but it’ll also make you feel better about yourself at the same time.
4. Play Them At Their Own Game
If it’s revenge you seek then play them at their own game. Rather than harnessing negative energy on feeling insecure or sorry for yourself, put it into something more productive like making an action plan that’ll make them equally as jealous of you. This kind of healthy competition will give you the chance to shine over your rival making you feel a whole lot better about yourself in the process.
I hope this helps those of you who get a sharp jealous pang now and again and remember girls…’green’ is not a good colour on anyone.
