Steven Gately Died Of Natural Causes

Steven Gately died of  ‘natural causes,’ a post-mortem examination has confirmed this afternoon.

An official spokesperson has revealed the boyzone front man suffered from ‘acute’ pulmonary oedema, a build up of fluid on the lungs.

Officials could not say if Stephen had been using drugs or heavily drinking before his death however Toxicology results will be out later this week confirming whether or not this had been the case. Friends and family strong deny that he had.

The family lawyer told GMTV presenters this morning “We are absolutely happy that there is no foul play.”

His long term partner Andrew Cowles, 31, has been given permission by a judge to take his body back to Dublin for the funeral.

It’s sad that Stephen’s cause of death was so wrongly-reported yesterday by so many UK national newspapers. It seems all they wanted was a fresh angle to sell papers. Well, today they’ve got one, and it’s the truth. May he rest in peace.
