Spice Girls West End Musical
A source has told The Sun newspaper that The Spice Girls are set to have their own musical in London’s West End, much like Mamma Mia and We Will Rock You.
The show is said to be produced by Simon Cowell (what a suprise) and written by his brother Kim (this is not a typo!). The show will tell the story of the girls and their rise to stardom and is set to be called ‘Viva Forever’. The show will include 14 of the girls’ hits from throughout their career and you can bet it’ll be a total sell-out.
“It’s a fantastic new way to broaden out the Spice franchise and cash in on their personalities, their story and their songs,” the source explained. “It will take on a life of its own. The concept could even be replicated in other countries. The sky is the limit with this one.”
Meanwhile, Emma Bunton (Baby Spice) has confessed the Spice Girls reunite every Christmas for drinks and a sing-along: “We all go over to David and Victoria’s for lovely food and good wine” Baby Spice told the Daily Express, “It’s the only time we all get to see each other, we get a bit tipsy and listen to Spice Girls songs. I can’t believe I’ve admitted that!”
It seems the Spice Empire has not fallen yet and I kind of hope this stage production definitely materialises for 2010…
