Oprah Winfrey Settles Lawsuit

Who would dare take Oprah to court?! Well, apparently Oprah’s old Headmistress, Nomvuho Mzamane…

Oprah Winfrey has apparently settled a defamation lawsuit brought against her for alleged comments she made about her former Headmistress of her South African girl’s school out of court, according to the Associated Press.

Nomvuho Mzamane had claimed that Oprah defamed her in 2007, during a scandal over alleged sex abuse occurrences at the school. Nomvuho claims that Oprah’s comment had led to her having trouble finding a job…too right too if Oprah’s comments were accurate?

The case was due to go to trial on 29 March, however, Oprah’s lawyer said they had met “woman to woman” and sorted out their differences. “They are happy that they could resolve this dispute peacefully to their mutual satisfaction,” their lawyers confirmed in a statement to press.”

It looks like poor Oprah may have had to dig deep in her pocket for this one but sometimes you just can’t put a price on reputation – nice one Oprah xxx
