Leona Lewis Will Sing Avatar Theme Song

Leona Lewis has been picked to sing ‘I See You,’ the theme song to James Cameron’s new film Avatar, following in the footsteps of diva Celine Dion, who sung ‘My Heart Will Go On’ for Cameron’s last movie, Titanic.

I’m so proud of her as a British artist for being so internationally successful. The track has been written by the same song writers as Titanic’s theme, James Horner and Simon Franglen. I’m a bit of a geek when it comes to film music and this is so exciting I really can’t wait to hear it.

Sadly for me though, her success only highlights how far X Factor has fallen since Leona won the competition 3 years ago. I can see the headlines now: Leona Lewis sells millions with track for international blockbuster… Jedward Win The X Factor.

I’m being blunt but none of the singers this year will ever be as good as Leona… strange when this year has seen the biggest ever X Factor talent search. So many good singers have been shown the trap door. X Factor is now tabloid seeking rubbish.

But maybe I’ve spoken too soon… Perhaps Jedward will get the contract to sing the theme song for the new 2012 film – after all they would fit a disaster movie perfectly!
