Cheryl Talks Equal Marriage
With the UK consultation on equal marriage coming to a close on Thursday 14th June – Cheryl has decided to publish her stance on marriage equality.
Not surprisingly, Cheryl has urged her fans to take part in the Government’s consultation to introduce civil marriage in England and Wales.
In an interview with Neil Sexton and Debbie Ryan on Gaydar Radio’s N’Debz show, which is due to air on Saturday 18th June, Cheryl said:
‘Marriage is far more than a man and a woman, it’s a bond for life. Whether you are gay or straight or whatever it makes no difference to being married.
‘What marriage stands for is that you love that person. You want to commit yourself to that person forever… Why should the fact that you’re attracted to the same-sex make that any different? It makes no sense to me. They’re the same relationship, the same beliefs. It’s crazy. I don’t even understand why it’s even a [big] deal.’
Cheryl is currently promoting her single ‘Call My Name’ and her new album ‘A Million Lights’ is due to be released on Monday 18th June 2012. What do you think about civil marriage?
