Stockings & Suspenders: For Bedroom Not Club

Last week I heard Lily Allen and Katy Perry were inspiring a surge in stocking and suspender sales. A journalist suggested it was due to the recession, with women choosing to spend their money on cosy nights in over crazy nights out.

This is all well and good – what I was more concerned about though was both Lily and Katy mixing up the two, and wearing the sexy bedroom combination to a nightclub.

Let’s get this straight… stockings and suspenders are lingerie and lingerie doesn’t look good anywhere else than behind closed doors… sorry girls… I’m not normally this brutal… but it’s true.

The boys might think it’s hot, and you’ll be certain to get some attention, but to guys lingerie means sex… fantasy… and porn. It’s therefore an incredibly difficult look to pull off whilst remaining classy.

So if you’re just wanting a drink or a dance, don’t be surprised when it turns out the guy is seeking something a bit more adventurous.

Instead play it safe and keep stockings and suspenders, whether they are pink, white, red, black or blue, for the bedroom, where you can indulge in a man’s fantasy and make yourself feel sexy, without the general public gazing.
