Hairbands: Winter Fashion Trend

Ok, headbands are not everyone’s cup of tea I’ll admit but these little charmers are starting to make more and more of an appearance on the celeb circuit. They no longer have the whole flower power stigma; which is great if you’re weren’t born in the 70’s. Below are my top tips on how to pull off the look.
Keep it Simple
Headbands are a neat accessory, therefore stray bits and fancy fringes really don’t go with the look. You can just about get away with curls. Headbands draw people’s eyes to your head and you want it to subtly attract attention, not grab people’s glances like a bad hangover. Therefore get your strengtheners out and let the headband compliment a sleek, simple look. Putting your hair up in a neat style also really works wonders.
Patterns
There are lots of headband styles, some are thicker than others and some are funkier with their designs. If you chose a louder colour or pattern make sure it fits with what you are wearing that day. No one likes an odd accessory and a headband is just the same.
Flowers
Now I know I said the whole flower power image is fading with headbands but the odd petal can do wonders to really make this accessory complete an outfit. But be suttle – I’m not talking Lady Gaga and a crown or thorns!
Style It Up Or Down
I’m not a massive fan of girls wearing headbands around their forehead. To me it just looks a little untidy, although Taylor Swift is making this look very popular at the moment. I admit the way it harks back to the 70′s can really work, just be careful it doesn’t end up round your neck.
Hope that helps girls
