Corsets: High Street Trend
To corset or not to corset? That’s the question…
According to the Metro, the likes of Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have inspired millions of women to splash out on designer corsets, so much so that stores are selling out left right and centre. And they aren’t just being bought for the bedroom!
Corsets are a brilliant addition to your wardrobe for whenever you want to look and feel that little bit sexier, but make sure it doesn’t turn trashy. Here’s a couple if dos and don’ts for pulling off a corset if you’re wanting to wear it out the house.
Say No to Garish Colours
If you’re wearing a corset and still need bright colours to get eyes on you, there’s something wrong. Let’s be frank, corsets aren’t a conservative choice so steer clear of weird and wonderful shades to avoid looking like a tramp. Black, Grey, Dark Blue, and Cream are great, classy choices.
Boobs

Three Words… Well. Tucked. In. Enough Said.
Hair
Corsets can leave a lot of flesh on show so fixing your hair up for the evening isn’t really a great idea. Instead grab the straighteners or your curling irons and mix up the look with an interesting style that covers as much neck and shoulders as possible.
Make Up
Try to match the style of the corset with your makeup, just for continuity reasons. For example, if the corset has a gothic feel going on, then match the colours with some smokey, dark eye makeup. Avoid too much blusher to avoid looking like an hour glass mannequin doll.
Stockings and Fishnets
If its fancy dress then you can get away with it – but if not, then no! Even though you’re wearing a corset, keep some things to the imagination and try to shift away from the stereotypes as much as possible. It can be a sexy addition to any evening, just make sure it’s tasteful.
