Cankles: Fabricated To Sell High Heels

If I was paid every time a magazine printed the words, “Oh no… Look at her cankles.” I’d be a rich man by now.

‘Cankles’ is in fact a made up term to play on your insecurities and keep you feeling bad about your legs. Companies can then market the perfect product for making ankles look smaller knowing that it’ll fly off the shelves. Step forward High Heels!

Now we all know ankles look bigger when barefoot and slimmer when you’re staggering in painfully high heels, but if ankles naturally look larger without shoes – you must ask yourself – what’s the point in feeling bad about it?

That’s like calling your ears ‘ugly’ without ear muffs on… or your hands ‘podgy’ without nail polish… pointless…

So let’s get serious for a moment… I’m not telling you to stop wearing your heels – far from it in fact. A pair of heels can do wonders for your confidence by making you taller and giving the illusion that your legs are far more toned than they actually are. But don’t for one minute think that you need them to look gorgeous…because frankly, you don’t.

We’re constantly told to worry about something. So once in a while, meet me half way and break the mould. Glance down at your feet and wonder why you spend so much money making them look ‘more attractive.’ Then try and spend your money on something else that boosts your confidence – like a foot massage or a spa day.

Girls, shoes should be something you want not something you need so don’t be told what to wear by anyone but you! Cankles just don’t exist! Even Barbie has cankles according to designer Christian Louboutin… ludicrous.
